"imagine you're in a theatre, watching a play and sitting in the most comfortable chair ever. but the thing is, the chair gets obnoxiously hot after each act, forcing you to stand up; also, what seems weird to you, the acts seemingly start and end arbitrarily, scorching your left buttock in the most inconvenient of times.
that does it, you've had enough. you head to the box office and angrily demand a refund. strangely, all you get is a humbling nod and this tape gently placed in your right hand. you suddenly get a text: "hey, your uber is here"."
the first release of 2k19 takes you into the shoes of a seemingly innocent observer, Alan Sond, as he strolls during rush hour. how busy it is depends solely on you.
building upon various tongue-in-cheek renditions of whatever the theme is (what comes into the spotlight), this is a release of quotes; quoting society, rules and forgoing the regular use of clichés in music in favor of sucking you in and allowing brief episodes of introspection.

a few words about the music from its creator:
"Clown Around Town' was recorded in Berlin in fall 2014 on a Bontempi Keyboard. It was originally composed for an unfinished play about remoteness and public transit. For this reason it is as interested in the scenic as much as the narrative.
'CAT' trades in an economy of compromises. It uses a frugal set of samples, whose path to variation exists uniquely in their interrelation while being sped-up, slowed-down and re-pitched. Production is sparse, with only the rare use of effects and a lack of reverb. This was an unconscious decision at the time, but it speaks to the ascetic internal logic.
The shifts in music are a bargain with false idols. It’s one thing to learn the rules of a game while playing. It’s something entirely different to not know for certain that the game has rules, or if it is even a game at all.
The music exhibits a hermetic, even esoteric quality, and one detects a persistent desire, desperation and determination to seduce a “correct” or “regular” process in real time. In its associative logic, it swings between scenes of public space, narratives of exterior interaction, and flights of quiet introspection.
'CAT' might share the fate of the unfinished play it was born to accompany, in that it persistently refuses to give up self-awareness and refuses to transcend the act of defining to become the thing which it defines."
